My Own Character Design

In my spare time, I will ask each other questions with my friends (each time give three unrelated words, and design characters around these three words). This time my friend gave me the title: Bones, Menger Sponge, Hats
I don’t know what a “Menger sponge” is at all, I googled it first, but I’m still confused. My friend told me that she knew this word because she was drawing Pokémon-related illustrations recently. The figures she paints often carry Menger sponges. She told me not to worry about what the thing is, but to design according to its geometry. I think what she said is very reasonable, and through this method of mutual questioning, I will learn a lot of new knowledge and inspire me more.

the character always carry a Menger Sponge around his waist
The surface area of the Menger sponge is infinite

I drew three designs for these three words, and this time I focused on their silhouettes, hoping that the silhouettes would look distinctive.
When drawing the third character, I changed the bag in the clothing reference to a skull. After drawing it I realized it wasn’t pretty. The shape of the skull destroys the original rectangle, and it looks very “figurative”, not lean enough. Maybe I should make it look like a skull without changing the outline of the bag.
