The cotton doll, drawn and supervised by myself from beginning to end, is finally ready, and it took a whole year (2022.2-2022.12). Although it was tiring, tormenting, and blood pressure soaring, I was really happy to see that the dolls I made were liked by everyone in the end. This process also taught me a lot.

From the beginning of drawing manuscripts, I encountered problems. The dolls I usually draw with my usual brush look good, but it’s not easy to sew. (Because there are a lot of messy colors on the line draft, and the lines are drawn unrealistically, the machine cannot recognize the lines) and the distance between the eyes of my manuscript is too close, although the manuscript looks normal on the screen, but the actual production Being a doll is weird. So I revised many versions.

The next step is the principle of hair material and embroidery thread color. Because hairstyles are different, the material of the hair should be chosen carefully.
I spent a long time choosing among 6 different materials, and finally settled on rabbit fur. It’s a texture that’s not too fluffy (otherwise my doll looks like a wild man) and not too flat.
I also considered whether to make it more complicated, such as embroidering some patterns on the chest and soles of the feet, but in the end I still wanted to be as simple as possible.
So the first version of the doll was born. It was really ugly, so ugly that I wanted to give up.

But in the end I chose to go all out and start working on the second edition.
I am very satisfied with the final effect.
